Peter Hartman

A lifelong athlete, Peter discovered CrossFit in 2014 when a running injury forced him off the road and into his local CrossFit affiliate.  He was immediately hooked and as he recovered from his running injury, he used his newfound functional fitness to do Spartan races, Tough Mudders, and Ragnar Relays.

At the urging of his CrossFit coaches, he became a CrossFit Level 1 trainer in February 2019 and received his Level 2 in December 2023. Peter’s passion for coaching and inspiring people to be the best version of themselves is what motivates him every day.  “To see people transform themselves and improve their physical and mental well-being through exercise and a positive attitude is extremely rewarding.”

When he’s not coaching or getting his own workouts in, Peter enjoys hanging with family and friends, traveling, creating craft cocktails, watching all of his Chicago sports teams and cruising around Santa Cruz in his classic car.
